How Sculptra® Works

Sculptra® Aesthetic is a type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging by stimulating your own collagen. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades. Sculptra® injections work best in the lateral areas of the face, making new collagen that lifts the cheeks, fills the temples and lifts the sagging of the mid- and lower-third of the face.

What to Expect During Your Sculptra® Treatment

At Age Management Institute, Renee Hinojosa will consult with you prior to your treatment to discuss the best areas to treat and what kind of results you can expect. Improvement with Sculptra® is gradual and typically requires a few treatments spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart.

Results

Results with Sculptra® are gradual and natural looking. During each of your clinic visits, you and Renee will determine how much correction will be appropriate. Once optimal results are achieved, your improved look will last for at least one to two years. Some patients prefer to have an anesthetic cream applied before the injections. Possible side effects may include swelling and bruising for a few days after treatment. Many patients do not require any downtime.
