Dr. Mark Gunderson understands the complex changes that women and men experience with aging and hormones and started Age Management Institute in 2003, where he uses his skills and expertise to create personalized treatment plans to slow the signs and decrease the symptoms of the inevitable. Dr. Gunderson received top-tier training from Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University and continued his residency in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He spent many years as an emergency medicine physician and a trauma team physician at hospitals across the US. With his ample knowledge, Dr. Gunderson also taught at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, as both a Clinical Assistant Professor and Assistant Medical Professor at Renown Regional and the VA Hospital in Reno, Nevada.
Versed in many forms of medicine, Dr. Gunderson is board-certified in age management medicine and works extensively with his team to provide proper care in many specialty healthcare areas including: weight gain, hormone imbalance, fatigue, muscle loss, mood swings, and many more. Preventative healthcare is becoming more and more of a hot topic across the country and world; the unique medical specialty office in Reno, Nevada, Age Management, is rapidly growing in awareness and popularity. Founder
Renee has diverse experience and education in the areas of aesthetics and plastic surgery. Renee received both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Renee has three national certifications including: Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist- Board Certified (ACN-BC), Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN), and Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS), making her the only nurse in Nevada with both CPSN and CANS certifications. During the past 30 years, her practice has been in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. She worked as a Plastic Surgery Clinical Nurse Specialist at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and has been extensively involved in patient care as well as staff education and nursing research.
In 2006, Renee joined the Age Management Institute where she has built a successful practice. In 2014 she passed her national certification exam and is now recognized as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with prescriptive authority. She is truly an artist with injectable treatments and teaches her methods to other physicians and nurses on a national level as an independent contractor with Aesthetic Advancements Incorporated.
Renee believes that involvement in specific professional organizations is very important to providing high quality patient care. She has been involved in the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) for 30 years. She served as the President of the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board (PSNCB) for the past 4 years and is currently serving as PSNCB Immediate Past President.
Renee has lived in Reno, Nevada for over 28 years. She is married to Tomas Hinojosa, MD, a gastroenterologist, and has three children. She truly believes in wellness of the mind and body and stays active by participating in yoga and cycling as well as playing tennis and golf.
