Skin Treatment Spotlight: Dysport

Renee Hinojosa of the Age Management Institute is a leading provider of a variety of injecteible treatmetns throughout Reno. One of which is Dysport.

Dysport is an injectable solution used to treat fine lines and wrinkles by immobilizing the muscles surrounding the affected area. In many ways, Dysport is considered very similar to Botox injections, but there are some very clear cut differences between the two treatments.

Dysport is essentially a neurotoxin that is surrounded by protein molecules. The neurotoxin is designed to block signals from the brain to specific muscles, causing a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

For example, many people experience deep wrinkles in their forehead when they go outside or are angry. These deep wrinkles can eventually cause the appearance of a constant fine line or wrinkle, regardless of whether you are squinting or are relaxed. When Dysport is injected into the muscles on your forehead, the muscles stop contracting. The result is the disappearance of the wrinkles.
